Social Media Development

Social Media Development is recognized by AgentOwned Realty as most important in increasing  their real estate business.  This past week Jeremy Blanton of 210 Constulting was

Jeremy Blanton writing on board

brought to Mt Pleasant, SC to teach their agent-owners how to increase their real estate business by using Facebook correctly. Jeremy taught 2 classes on the subject -- had so much interest in the topic, we had to add another class in order to accommodate everyone.

There was much great information given by Jeremy as way to increase their social media development. After learning what the basics of Facebook are, the agent-owners began to get the picture.

Facebook is so much more than the games that so many people like to play.

Social media development is so much more than who just went to the grocery store or who just picked up their children from the pool. Facebook has 3 major sections -- personal profile, groups and pages.

Also, the important of using Lists was pointed out. With the use of Lists, one can be so much more pro-active.

Another factor to remember is when you set up your business page, do not set it up the same as your personal profile -- make sure that it is a separate page -- a business page. One should also remember that the personal page is just that --- one should not be trying to sell real estate on that page -- this is a social page, not a business page.

If one is interested in social media development, he/she should learn how to correctly use Facebook.

So, in a nutshell, remember your purpose for being on Facebook --- is it purely personal or do you want to use it for business purposes?

Jeremy Blanton has already agreed to make another trip to Mt Pleasant so that other agent-owners who are interested in social media development will have the same opportunity.

What do I think is critical to real estate agents in today's world? You guess it -- social media development.

Office Atmosphere

Office Atmosphere -- just how important is this to the workers?

Lady having a hard day at the office

Especially in a real estate office, the atmosphere is critical. No one wants to feel like they have to watch their backs all the time.

Have you ever walked into an office and felt like you could cut the air with a knife? You could feel the tension in the office--the office atmosphere was not pleasant. Group of office workers helping each other

One time, an Airborne employee told me that when she walked into our real estate office, she saw agent-owners helping other agent-owners -- everyone was positive and very upbeat -- a pleasant office atmosphere. She said that when she went in the office of a competitor of ours just down the street, the office atmosphere was very tense -- agents were fussing at each other - not helping.

Here at AgentOwned Realty, because each agent licensed with the company is an owner, it benefits each one to be helpful to the others. We have always found agent-owners to go out of their way to assist another agent-owner -- after all, it is their company and they realize that working together, they can build a stronger company.

Have you thought of your office as having good karma or bad karma?

I will never forget taking an agent around to see 3 vacant offices in our real estate office so that she could select which office she wanted -- this was years ago, but it has stuck with me all this time. She had said to me that our office in general had great karma, but she had to be sure about the particular office she would be in. We went in the largest and I thought the best one for her and her comment was "I cannot work in this office -- something not good has happened in here at sometime -- the karma is not good" -- I was stunned -- she selected a different office and was a very productive agent with us -- this was back in our Coldwell Banker days.

BTW, that agent is an agent-owner with us today.

Would you say that office atmosphere and karma are the same? The dictionary defines karma as "the good or bad emanations felt to be generated by someone or something".
