Are you willing to die?
I do not have anyone who is really close to me serving in the US Armed Services at this time. I do have friends or family of friends who are overseas --- I don't know about you, but I truly appreciate
what these men and women are doing for not only my country, but for my family and me.
Do you have any freedoms that you may not have had, except for our troops protecting that freedom?
I ask you,
* are you able to say what you want to say when you want to say it?
* are you able to dress like you want to?
* are you able to write what you want when you want to?
* are you able to worship as you please?
There must be millions of freedoms that we have because of our American Troops.

What are some of your particular freedoms?
Don't know about you, but when I hear our National Anthem, I get very emotional -- we live in a great country, my friends and it is because of our American Troops.
If you are not serving in the US Armed Services, have you asked yourself this question? Am I willing to die so that strangers -- people whom I do not know -- can have life and freedom?

I am VERY patriotic because I come from a military family. Thank you for this.

Liz- I was born to be patriotic and respect those who serve. Considering what some of the troops go through, we really need to be thankful. I know most people wouldn't want to endure it for other people's freedom. Especially when some of those people don't respect you for what you do.
Liz - My husband was in the Navy, so I'm a big supporter of the men and women that serve our great country in the armed forces. Thanks for the post!
Those men gave their lives for our freedoms and that is the biggest sacrifice of all. They believed so much that they volunteered to fight for those freedoms. Most countries require you to join the military, we truly are free!

Liz - Thank you! My son is in the Army and been deployed four times, my brother is in the National Guard and scheduled to go back for his seond tour of Afghanistan at the beginning of next year and my nephew is in the Navy. They along with thousands of others bravely serve this country without a complaint, accept their missions and do the job that is asked of them. They deserve our love and upport and to know how proudly we stand behind them.
My family has a long line of Military men and my brother recently retires from the White House as an Aid for Chaney. Before that he was in the Middle East for 16 years. He is my hero!
Liz: I don't have anyone serving overseas right now, but a girl in our office did lose her husband. He wasn't a soldier, but a contractor, there to translate for the troops. We are loosing many, many more besides our troops. Just shows that you don't have to wear a uniform to be willing to die for your Country.
We should never forget that so many have laid down their lives in sacrifice for our freedom. They are what has created this great nation and our ability to live happily and free within it.
Kim --- thanks for your great comments --- I'm not sure that I could do what our soldiers do --- I sincerely appreciate them.
Mama Liz

There are so many freedoms that we have in this country that we tend to forget how we got them and the price that is paid each day to preserve them. God bless the men and women that give their lives - away from their families, to protect ours.
Thanks for your tribute to soldiers and veterans. I think that we often forget that many have died for the freedom we have.
Have a great day,
Irene

Married to a Marine for 24 years! OOh rah!
Hi Liz, I think most take these freedoms for granted at times because we have grown up like this, myself included. I'm always reminded how lucky I am through the sacrifice of others when viewing & reading the overseas news.
Lisa ---Please let your husband know that I appreciate what he has done for me and my country.
Mama Liz
Cynthia --- this is one reason that I started this group --- to bring attention to the fact that we do take our service men and women for granted.
