Social Media Development is recognized by AgentOwned Realty as most important in increasing their real estate business. This past week Jeremy Blanton of 210 Constulting was
brought to Mt Pleasant, SC to teach their agent-owners how to increase their real estate business by using Facebook correctly. Jeremy taught 2 classes on the subject -- had so much interest in the topic, we had to add another class in order to accommodate everyone.
There was much great information given by Jeremy as way to increase their social media development. After learning what the basics of Facebook are, the agent-owners began to get the picture.
Facebook is so much more than the games that so many people like to play.
Social media development is so much more than who just went to the grocery store or who just picked up their children from the pool. Facebook has 3 major sections -- personal profile, groups and pages.
Also, the important of using Lists was pointed out. With the use of Lists, one can be so much more pro-active.
Another factor to remember is when you set up your business page, do not set it up the same as your personal profile -- make sure that it is a separate page -- a business page. One should also remember that the personal page is just that --- one should not be trying to sell real estate on that page -- this is a social page, not a business page.
If one is interested in social media development, he/she should learn how to correctly use Facebook.
So, in a nutshell, remember your purpose for being on Facebook --- is it purely personal or do you want to use it for business purposes?
Jeremy Blanton has already agreed to make another trip to Mt Pleasant so that other agent-owners who are interested in social media development will have the same opportunity.
What do I think is critical to real estate agents in today's world? You guess it -- social media development.

Liz, I have been dragging my feet on getting into the whole Facebook business page, but your article has kicked my butt. I am gonna get on it right now. ANd thanks for the advice on having separate pages.
Well, I agree but I am still trying to make money by selling real estate in the field, and looking ata screen is time consuming. But, we have dvelped these facebook pages. Le tm know what you think.
365 Things to do in Ann Arbor, 365 Things to do in Chelsea, 365 Things to do in Dexter, 365 Things to do in Washtenaw County, 365 Things to do in Saline, fan page for KathyTothTeam and my own page Kathy Toth. whew! plus the blog www.AnnArboTalks.com TIme to call it a day Liz!
A wise choice. Jeremy knows Facebook inside and out. He created my Facebook page and it's now on auto-pilot, which is the way I want my Interent presence.
Gives me lots of time to play.
Hmmm. High praise from Lenn. I need a Facebook guru. Will have to look up Jeremy.
I am intrigued by Lenn's comment about her Facebook page being on auto pilot. I am off to find it to check it out and maybe call Jeremy as well. Using a Realtor that understands technology is better than just using someone that knows technology!
Liz, Jeremy is the one to have for FB training. Sounds like it was a BIG success!
Those who embrace it will soon always have a larger market share than those who don't. Last numbers I saw said 87% of home buyers begin their search on line.
I completely agree. In fact I just received a lead this weekend via Facebook!
Jean ---- thanks for stopping by -- I'm pleased that I spurred you on.

Great post! Sound like a successful social media to me!
Thanks for sharing,
Adam
Now, that is the way to get your business built. Go with the best! I think it says a lot about your agents that you had enough interest that a second meeting had to be set up because of there was so much interest.

Adam ---- thanks so much for stopping by
Todd ---- yep, Jeremy is awesome ---I am having fun now with all the different social networks --- well, maybe not all, but at least AR, Twitter and FB --- BTW , I love your new signature.
You are so right Liz in that social media can be much much more than what one may originally think it is for. It sure has helped build our business !
Christopher & Stephanie ---- thanks so much for stopping by
